Dvdread Could Not Read -1/4 Blocks Vlc Windows
Hello Krofojed,
Yes the following local policies nether Reckoner Configuration is set to disabled. It is because and then your estimator will not get afflicted by Virus.
CD and DVD: Deny execute access
CD and DVD: Deny read access
CD and DVD: Deny write admission
It expect like that some of the organization files are corrupted so I would suggest yous to perform SFC scan and run virus scan on the computer.
A) Perform SFC scan:
Use the Arrangement File Checker tool (SFC.exe) to determine which file is causing the issue, and then replace the file. To do this, follow these steps:
one. Open up an elevated command prompt. To do this, click Outset, click All Programs, click Accessories, correct-click Command Prompt, and and so click Run as administrator. If you lot are prompted for an administrator password or for a confirmation, type the password, or click Allow.
2. Blazon the post-obit control, and then press ENTER: sfc /scannow
The sfc /scannow control scans all protected arrangement files and replaces wrong versions with correct Microsoft versions.

Yeah the following local policies under Computer Configuration is set to disabled. It is because and then your computer will not get affected by Virus.
CD and DVD: Deny execute access
CD and DVD: Deny read access
CD and DVD: Deny write access
I don't empathize this part of the reply. However, possibly I should kickoff make myself clearer. These three policies were non configured on my reckoner at first. Normally "not configured" should exist equivalent to "disabled" and I should have normal access to my CD/DVD drive. Since I did not, I set these policies to disabled and so I could access the drive normally.
As additional information, I would like to state that this is a laptop that but I use, so nobody could alter any settings without my knowledge. And if this is relevant: I am running a 64-chip version of Windows 7 (I may have supplied this information already - I don't remember).
It expect like that some of the system files are corrupted then I would propose you to perform SFC scan and run virus browse on the reckoner.
Done. The effect was "Windows Resources Protection did not find whatever integrity violations." Information technology appears that the problem is not with organization files, but more likely with some settings.
B) Run anti-virus scan and a malware scan on the calculator. Refer to the links mentioned below.
Washed. No problems were found.
I've noticed two strange things that may or may not be related to my problem:
(1) When no disc is in my CD/DVD drive, Windows Explorer shows the drive as "Local Disk", which is probably not normal.
(2) Windows Media Histrion does not pay video DVDs. Past all appearences information technology does not realize the disc is a video DVD (information technology lets me scan information technology for media files, but the disc itself cannot be played). VLC Actor works normally, though.

A farther (probably related) problem that I have encountered is that actions specified in autorun.inf are ignored. For example, when I insert an installation CD, setup.exe is non executed automatically. A possible explanation is that Windows does not realize my drive is a CD/DVD drive. This is corroborated by the above observation that Windows Explorer shows the bulldoze as "Local Disk". How do I set this?
If this really is the case, this topic does not belong in the security forum. Feel free to motility it.
